It can still take a week or more, or it could happen tonight. It's hard to say. But yes, walking does help. ALOT... If you get a sudden burst of energy where you want to clean and clean or you feel so full of energy that you need to walk and walk then by God do it. That's a signal the baby is on the way!!! Good luck to you. I hope you have a beautiful happy baby!

This doesn't mean a thing. How many babies have you had? There is a chance you can go into labor within the hour or not for another 5 weeks. You generally will not be admitted to a labor and delivery unit until you are 4 cm and in active labor. Don't be discouraged. There is a light at the end of the tunnel! Labor will be coming soon.

Don't get too excited. You have 3 weeks to go. I know when you are ready you want the baby to come now. But I was 2cm for a few weeks, without change. If you get excited this soon you only get disappointed when the doc tells you you have not progressed in a week...then two weeks...
The baby will come when it's ready. If you haven't progressed by your due date, then ask your doc to strip your membranes. They did this for my second baby and I went into labor the next morning. Good luck!! and Congrats!!

You shoud have started walking earllier, the sex helps labor because the sperm has prostaglandins.
I don't think it takes a specific time to get contractions, 2cm dialated it is ok and it is not a problem to go in labor any time from now

Im 37 1/2 weeks preg. now and ive been at 2cm for a week and a half.. im having menstrual like cramping in my belly and back.. everyone says im going soon, but im in the same boat as you!! Last night i went swimming and after that the cramping got more intense.. try walking, cleaning.. anything that will have gravity pull that baby down!! Nothings working for me either tho.. sooo good luck !!! (I also lost my plug 2weeks ago.. thats a key in the onset of labor!!)

Those sharp pains are contractions. You should time them. How long they last and how much time is in-between. You should consult your doctor considering you're 37 weeks. But they usually say that when those pains are about 5 minutes apart you need to go to the hospital. If your doctor says your baby is small they might want you to go in and try to stop the contractions.

A friend of mine's gf was dialated to 2 for a week and had Braxton Hicks the whole time, she wasn't due until today. I guess it depends on the baby. It could go on for a couple weeks.
But I would have the pain looked at.

As long as you haven't lost your mucus plug, sex is ok. And it did help speed things along for me. Walking will definately help, but don't go alone!! You could be 2cm for another week or so though. You ARE having contractions though, so be mindful of how far apart/intense they are.
Congrats!!

You could go into labor by the time I finish this, you could walk around for three weeks like that. Everyone is different.
Are you effaced? What is the baby's position?
I bet the pain you are feeling is the baby headbutting your cervix. My son used to do that and it really hurts! Little Bugger!!!!

I was 2cm for 5 weeks. I walked everyday my entire pregnancy. Never had any contractions. My water started leaking and they had to induce with pitocin. Had a natural delivery and she weighed 6lbs 8oz. Remember, every pregnancy is different! Good luck to you and your new little one.
