It reminds me to always remember and honor the fallen comrades that I served with, and those that I continue to serve with.

"And this is what I believe: that the free, exploaring mind of the individual human is the most valueble thing in the world. And this I would fight for: the freedom of the mind to take any direction it wishes, undirected. And this I must fight againist: any idea, religion or government which limits or destroys the individual. This is what I am and what I am about."

I bought a poster once it had a mountain climber on the top of a peak and it read " We take these risks not to escape life but from life escaping us "

When I was in secondary school I was worried about my exam results to the point of being a nervous wreck and an old woman I know said " If you worry you die, if you don't worry you die,so why worry? "

"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever", by John Keats.

I apply it in my everyday life. I only buy things that I find beautiful, even if they cost 50 cents. And if I have to spend lots of money on something that will bring beauty to my life, I don't mind, because they will bring joy too. Example: if I buy a good variety of bird seed, it will attract beautiful birds, like cardinals, etc.

"Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry."-Mark Twain.

This quote gives me a light-hearted yet practical goal to work towards in life. I need to be such a good person that even a mortician, though I be a new customer, will wish I hadn't gone.

Something my aunt and my mother always told me, sort of a quote, that stuck with me:

"You can't expect everyone to think or behave as you do."

Simple enough, but it's helped me try to relate to others better and make peace, instead of wringing the stupid SOB's neck when I can't believe what I'm seeing/hearing.

I'm not sure that I am saying it right, but I love that Raven Symone said this: "My fans know that I like my cheese shrimp and grits but I'm not giving them up to be a size two." It shows that you should respect who you are and not care what others think. Raven is Beautiful.

"The day man come when the courage of men fails and we break all bonds of fellowship; but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down; But it is not this day. This day we fight.
By all that you hold dear in this good earth, I bid you; Stand! Men of the West."

As true today as when JRR Tolkien wrote it.
