I am planning to travel in late December to Hawaii but I have heard it is not worthy since it rains hard. I do not want to spend a fortune on a lousy trip. I would rather cut my veins.

I've been there in January....and I loved it. In fact I'm planning another trip January 2007. If you go to the Big Island (where I'm going) there may be snow on top of Mauna Kea (over 13,000 feet). The weather is different all around the Island. Rains more in Hilo area, but dry on the Kona side. Enjoy your trip.

I went on a trip to Hawaii like the second week of December 2 years ago, and it was so nice. it was in the 70's It only rained a couple of times, but it was mostly a drizzle that only lasted for a few minutes, we had fun. That time is also a good time to go on a whale watching tour.

the weather on the island of Maui is a little cooler in the winter then in the summer and it gets cooler at night too. the waves are bigger in the winter time i know it rains a little bit more in the winter then in the summer but i think it rained once the last time i was in Hawaii and that was in the summer time.

Waikiki would be fine, Kihei on Maui would be good. the south shores are better in the winter, but check out the north shores of both Oahu & Maui if the weather permits
