Only if you like to buy food, clothes and pay rent on time. Otherwise you could live in the street like lots of other lazy bums.

Well, I think many people work all through college and then just keep going, hopefully with a better job after college. It makes sense to start ASAP since there are bills to pay and experience to gain, plus some companies look for new graduates so it's an advantage to be looking for a job at that point in your life.

in a perfect world it would be great for us all to take a year and travel the world before we start into a serious adult life... but the reality is, the world is far from perfect and most people can't even afford to go to college (i think it's something like 2% worldwide and 15% of kids in the usa who can go), let alone travel the world or otherwise take time off while their student loans pile up... i have a friend who just finished law school and is now spending a month in india working at an orphanage before she starts at her firm, i think something like that is a great idea, because it reminds those of us who've been more fortunate then others to never take our lives for granted and to stay in touch with reality.

That was my whole reason to go to college. I went to a 2yr Tech school and got an assc. degree. I'm 20 and I bought my first new car at the ripe old age of 19 and live with my GF that I met in college.

Well, i don't have much experience about working and college because I'm not quite there yet in my life. But getting out of college, I assume you have loans to pay off and are trying to get an apartment or small house or somewhere to live. Unless you're going to mooch of your parents *wink*.
I don't know what you're going to do, but I'm going to get a job ASAP.

Honestly, I think you should be working while your in college, I did, worked at Target overnight and as an Admin in the day, and 12 credit hours of college a semester.

If I had to do it again, I would've taken the summer off after graduating from college and started full time in the fall.

Yes. That was the whole point in going, to learn a field that you can get a job in and live a productive life.

I assume you went to college to learn a specific career. So get on with it. Mooching off Mommy & Daddy is just wrong.

yeah, because everything you just worked 4 years for is still fresh in your mind and if you dont use it, you lose it. its very easy to forget things youre not using and when you decide to get back into work it will seem like your college was nothing for you.
