As a man, let me assure you, it isn't aim. It's droplet spray. What looks like a stream has a nasty fine mist surrounding it.
As far as the seat debate goes, I think it's fine for women to want it down all the time, simply because it, in an odd manner, shows men are smarter (Before you jump all over me I know that's not true -- men and women are equal -- but follow my reasoning ahead):
Women want it down so they don't fall into the bowl when tired (dumb thing to do). At the same time the women assume the man is smart enough to know, when tired, to raise the seat and not make an even worse mess (washing your **** takes 30 seconds, washing the bathroom up takes 10 times longer -- and the piss scent lingers, trust me)

the toilet with the seat permanently up or not at all is called a urinal, if you can't put it down get a urinal I don't want to fall in when in the middle of the night and I have to pee and want to be considerate and not turn the light on and wake you sit down then feel a cold wet bum.

Am I the only one who turns the light up when going to the bathroom at night? How do you people "fall in"?
Personally, it's rather annoying than anything else to have to put the toilet seat down, when it was designed that way...

because we arent the ones peeing on it, and if they had better aim i wouldnt mind so much. besides, women use the restroom more often than men do, their bladders are smaller and we also use the restroom for other reasons. along with that both men AND women use it down, men dont just pee you know so yeah, it makes sense for it to be down more often.
lol, sorry...i just came back and i guess reading the thing about the toilet seat made me forget this was just a joke.

I think it's made to be down. You never see pictures advertising toilets with the toilet seat up. It's always been down, it's the purpose to sit on it. They just make the seat come up to accomodate men and machismo antics.

If we left it up, I'd fall in it every night, well, come to think of it, my husband would to because he sits on the toilet at night to keep from turning the light on and waking me up, so we'd both fall in the toilet.

In my house the ring and the lid are both closed after every use of the toilet, every time!! We all do the exact same amount of work!

ya know, you've got something there. it really is a double standard. but i do hate fallin in!!! maybe that's why, because women have to sit down, we dont' have the option of standing up. oh well.
