Slurping soup has GOT to be the most annoying sound EVER! And chewing with your mouth open is not that far behind either.

I sip my soup by dipping my spoon into the soup going from close to the bowl towards the middle of the bowl to prevent spilling soup on myself.

I take smaller than normal bites of food to prevent sound and I never speak with food in my mouth because that is rude.

I don't use a straw in my drinks either because of the slurping sound that it makes. Plus I never drink out of a full glass because of the chances that it may come out of the corners of the mouth or spill on your nice dinner clothes.

I catch myself slurpping my soup, most times. I don't think I chew with sound. I think that IS pretty gross.

No, I stopped slurrping soup when I was 6. As for chewing with sound, maybe something crispy like chips, crackers etc.

In the US, most people eat quietly, and it's considered rude to chew with your mouth open or talk with food in your mouth. I try to follow these rules, but sometimes my soup is a little too hot.

No slurping here, even when I'm close to the end of my drink I try to minimize it.

I do my best to eat quietly - and after 16 years of marriage I can finally say so does my husband!

YES-and I don't give a rat's as s what you or anyone else thinks. Unless it's a prestigious event-like a military formal.
