I have known many people who have sprinkled "Brewer's Yeast" on their dog's food with great success at having flea free dogs. You can buy it at any health food store. I have no clue how much you use, I would imagine at least a good tablespoonful each day.

short of getting rid of the dog, try a baby shampoo bath every day followed up with a flea comb. If the dog has them, then your house is infested also. Count on it. There is no easy "home remedy" for getting fleas out of your carpets, bedding, etc. You can try moth flakes sprinkled in the carpeting but that will kill some and leave some. Otherwise, use good old, trustworthy chemicals.

There is no good home remedy for fleas. You can try a flea bath, but that will only kill them...they're going to be in your carpet and keep coming back until you treat your house as well. Don't feed your dog garlic...it causes anemia in dogs. Plus you need to realize there are a lot of things that cause dogs to itch...if you self-treat for fleas at home, you can make it worse. Go talk to your vet...your dog will love you more for it.

I highly reccommend that you don't buy a flea collar. We just took our dog to the vet yesterday and the vet said that flea collars are junk and they definitely DO NOT WORK! All they are is a scam to get your money. If you go to the store and go in the dog section, you can find some REALLY good antidotes to fleas...... :) I hope that the fleas on your dog go away!!! Good luck!!!

Fleas don't live on your dog. They live and breed in your carpet and yard. Comb your dog through with a nit comb at least once a day, hoover the house once a day, turn out his bed and wash his bedding once a week.
Bath him once a week with mild shampoo, baby bath is ideal. Rinse him well and dry him properly before you let him out.
And remember that fleas transmit tapeworm so don't neglect his worming treatment.
