Wouldn't matter where I live - people get three cars through on a red light now!

That actually sounds like a good idea...you might be on to something. I always thought that the U.S. should take notes from Europe and instead of only having the yellow illuminate before the red, it should illuminate before the green as well. I initially thought that concept was ridiculous until I drove there for a while, then I realized how well it works. Would probably solve a lot of our "not paying attention as the light turns green" people. I like your idea though...good one!

Do you really want to confuse the people that don't know what the yellow light is actually for?

Here's what my dad always told me: Red means stop, green means go, Yellow means WAIT, EVEN IF YOU ARE LATE.

It certainly would make red light cameras useful.
As it is now, they decrease the number of red light runners, but only increase the ammount of fender benders due to people slamming on their brakes.
