I am sorry that it is hard for you to gain, but you can try "whey". It's like a protein shake. My brother was a skinny little nothing when he started wrestling, so he used that and some serious weight training. He was careful not to fall into the steroid trap though. He is still thin, just not underweight.
Good luck on your attempt to get yourself up to a healthy standard!
;)

ps - i answered your other question, and you made it sound like you were happy and intentionally staying this weight. I am sorry if I seemed rather harsh.

It's probably genetics. If the doctor says you are healthy, and you don't have any eating disorders you are probably fine, some people are just like that. Be sure that you are eating healthy foods and exercising about an hour every day but not much more than that. Sometimes people who can eat what they want without their bodies looking different eat too much junk and they have heart attacks and health problems later on in life.

I used to have the same exact problem. I would eat a lot and not gain any weight. I used to be 94 pounds and I am 5'3". When I went to the Doctor and she saw me like this, She prescribed a medicine that makes you not just eat but also gain weight in weeks. This medicine is normally for people who are extremely skinny. I gained 20 pounds in like 2 and a half months. The name of the medicine is MegaceES. You need to go see your Doctor in order to get it. I highly recommend it! If you have any questions you can Email me. rossyj82@yahoo.com

Good Luck!

well maybe you cn try gaining some muscles to add some weight. if the doctor says ur healthy, you're healthy. your friends probably dont know as much. but since you're 5'8, you are underweight.
it's a good thing you eat a lot. make sure you eat 3 meals a day
maybe u can go to a nutritionist?

i have the same problem. im 5' 2" and i weigh 90 pounds. people always either tease me or tell me they're jealous. I don't really care what people think anymore because I'm healthy at my weight and that's all that matters. the school nurse used to call me down once a month to weigh me because she thought i had an eating disorder even though my doctor said i was healthy. so just think that being skinny and healthy is better that being obese and unhealthy.

I would recommend a high carb diet along with a weight training and cardio routine. You will not gain the fat but overtime you will develop muscle. I had the same problem when I was younger. You should work out but don't avoid cardio. Just eat foods like pasta that are high in carbs. Also eat protein like fish or chicken to help the muscle develop.

How old are you...I used to be like that. As i am getting older i have slowly but surely been gaining weight, i just eat whatever i want all the time and dont work out. My dad is the same way as me, he eats what he wants and he is thin too. Be happy, you will eventually put on some weight, but you will never be fat!!

Ok- this is not healthy advice, but it will work. Do not start eating until over halfway through the day and be a pig right before you go to bed. Eat only 2 large meals a day and a late night snack. You will gain weight. This is not healthy advice- please keep that in mind.

It sounds like your slightly underweight - but that's not a bad thing. Anyone can gain a few pounds. Increase on your caloric intake - If you smoke..quit. Smoking cause a lose of appetite. Eat a lot of pasta and bread with ground beef. Eat scrambled eggs and cheese. Eat pizza at every opportunity you can. Wash all that down with a few beers every now and then.

I wish I had your problem! But really though...do you work out? Maybe try some weight training. I doubt you want to put on wieght by adding fat. So maybe adding some muscle mass might help your appearance. I'm not saying turn all body builder. But a little muscle makes a big difference.
