As someone who knows the dangers of tampons, let alone the dangers of scented tampons [vaginal splitting, yeast infections, bacterial infections, fibre loss, TSS, chemical exposure, increased cramping, irritation, prevention of natural cleaning, etc.] as well as the environmental, social and cost issues - then I would not buy tampons full-stop, I have a menstrual cup and would never use tampons again in a million years, not even if they paid me.
Menstruation isn't a problem, there is nothing at all to be uncomfortable about, everyone is perfectly aware that women menstruate, the only issue with buying tampons is that it shows that the woman is not aware of the health risks or other problems with tampons.
If you mean they are telling the whole store that they have problems with smell, well then most educated people would know that they are in fact going to make the woman smell bad – tampons themselves cause infections, chemicals in commercial tampons cause infections, scent in commercial tampons cause infections – the only reason for a woman's vagina to smell bad is if she were to have an infection, if she was to use scented tampons that would cause further infection and hardly cure her problem.
As long as a woman cleans herself often, with water alone as soap can also cause infections – side note, I think it is hilarious they now have adverts for Vagisil for vaginal infections, then right after they advertise Vagisil feminine washes that would actually cause yeast infections, freaking genius! – and she goes to a doctor for testing and treatment when she does have an infection, then there is no reason at all for her to smell bad.
Menstrual blood does not smell half as bad as is made out, I cannot ever remember smelling a woman on her period, besides it only gains an odour once it has left the body – tampons keep the blood inside, granted they encourage bacterial growth that is what makes menstrual blood smell, but if it is on the inside it isn't going to be smelt anyway. The logic behind such products escapes me.
In short, only women insecure and uneducated about their bodies would use scented tampons – that in itself is what would be embarrassing, not admitting you have your period, or even admitting you smell bad.

I imagine they won't be very popular. We've got enough worries about toxic shock syndrome from tampons, without risking more chemicals into the bargain. Its only a period isn't it, just part of nature and being a woman. Most of us keep downstairs spotless anyway.

Hey buddy
if there was fragrant toilet paper for YOUR bum, you would buy it
and I'm sure that the goo from your back passage is a lot worse than a ladies monthly leakage

Actually joking apart. I think it unwise to use anything that has chemicals added to it in your (down stairs) parts. And wouldn't advise anyone to use them. The flippin things are already treated with bleach. Its better to get natural products untreated, organically manufactured, for anything to do with your underneath. AND REMEMBER TO BE CLEAN INNIT
