They get their butt kicked in NASCAR by Chevy and Dodge.
They got laughed out of Formula-One.

We all _know_ their cars are second-rate junk. Why do they feel compelled to spend money on auto racing to prove what everyone already knows?

(Please: No flashbacks to the Iacocca years in the '60's. They don't matter anymore.)

Auto Racing is a sport, It's entertainment to many. As in any sport there are winnners & there are losers. If you lose a game or a race , do you stop playing?

Do Chicago Cubs leave major league baseball because they aren't World Champions like the Sox.

Why do Toyota, Honda & Nissan keep trying to sell pick-up trucks? Or Chevy & Dodge, for that matter, when every body knows Ford has the truck market locked up? (for the last 30 Years)

Why do Chevy & Dodge & Nissan fall WAY below the industry average when it comes to quality & dependability ( according to J. D. Powers 3 year study)
And Ford, Lincoln & Mercury all are ABOVE the industry average? (along with Honda & Toyota )

Your using Nascar/Formula 1 as the only two racing venues that matter???? Your kidding right?

If taking second place to dodge/chevy in nascar is all that bad then why does ford outsell both of those manufacturers put together? I hate to answer a question with a question, but your question sort of deserves it. Second rate junk?....Have you seen the camaro/firebirds that were discontinued a few years back. Yes they were faster then the same year mustangs, but after those first couple of races the motors would blow and then where would you be...I'd say pre 80s ford had quality issues (chevy was definitely better), but since '85 those CHEBIES could not keep running.

I think you are mistaken. Ford typically has 8 or 9 entries
in a Nextel race and often have 4 or 5 in the top 10.
Fords' history in that motorsport speaks for itself, as
well as serving up a huge embarrasment to Farrari
in the mid to late 60s.

Im not a big Ford fan myself, but you obviously must have gotten smoked by a V6 mustang or something. Try not to think so much and seeing ford developed the first major production car and the assembly line, you might have a little respect.

For the publicity. Why come to a Ford section to bash Ford? Your post and your attitude is second-rate junk...

Don't forget that Ford is the engine supplier for Champ car, too.

Even if Ford doesn't build a good product it is still good advertising for them, particularly to the nascar crowd.
