There are powders, whey proteins, etc. you can get from a health food store or nutrition centre that might help.
I think you should always stick to this philosophy: ice cream, ice cream, FRIES, ice cream

Eat large amounts of foods, and drink very little water. Be as sedentary (still) as possible, and be sure to eat lying or sitting down, and don't move around for at least an hour, after eating. Also, do everything you possibly can, from your bed or couch. (Just be careful not to continue, once you've gained the 5 lbs., not to continue this lifestyle.) Good luck. Be well.

I am actually trying to gain weight as well. I have a VERY fast metabolism and so its hard to gain weight..but what i do is take whey protein shakes at night before i go to bed...that way it helps you gain weight and usually if you eat before you go to bed you cant burn it off... but if you find any other good methods, let me know

My mother once mentioned that girls who are underweight are sometimes instructed to not eat for a day or two (like a famine) so their body thinks they're starving. This'll add fat to you and help you gain a few pounds. Remember, once your two days are up (do NOT go over two days, then'll you'll end up making yourself ill) eat something like pizza and pastas and high carb foods.
Or you could try eating a lot of pasta and breads and not being active.

Steps to gain weight-lol:
Eat, Eat, Eat!
Stuff your body with as many calories as possible...without making yourself sick
Eat before you go to sleep
And Don't Exercise
Also, if you're a girl- you can fluctuate that much just in water weight. (eat before you get on the scales too)

Milkshakes with supplements will do the trick. Go to a local Met-RX store that sells vitamins & supplements... And if you want muscle mass, start with some weights.

I've done all these things, I do mean ALL....and it took me like a decade to get like 10 lbs. heavier. My metabolism is super-DUPER-fast......so I feel ya there.
I'm just happy to finally have the little amount of curves. Just wish there were more.
Of course, on these Avatars there are no full-figures, so I've noticed

Eat a lot of carbs. Potatoes, bread, cereal. Eat more leaner meats than you normally do. Make sure you eat some fruits and vegtables too.
