The toy poodle will require the least day to day maintenance, but will however require a trip to the groomer's approximately every 4 - 6 weeks.

The maltese on the other hand will require being brushed and combed at least twice a day to maintain its coat which has the texture and consistency of spun cotton. Their hair tangles and mats very easily. If you choose to keep the hair long, you will have to train it to allow you to put up its ponytails SEVERAL times a day so that its hair doesn't get in its eyes and irritate them and cause major problems.

If you decided to keep its hair cut short to ease the daily maintenance, you will also have to take it to the groomer on a fairly regular basis to maintain the cut

A toy Poodle would need the least grooming. Simply because you can keep them cut short, with a maltese the look rather strange with short hair. The maltese will mat up and become dirty without daily grooming sessions of about an hour. Hope this helps.

Well they both require walking and feeding and veterinary care, but for grooming purposes toy poodles are easier. They don't shed and they really don't need the amount of grooming that the maltese does.

Well both need to be groomed at least every six weeks. Both are hyper. Poodles don't shed so that is a plus. So if you want a dog that you don't have to sweep dog hair after, go with the poodle.

They both are a lot of work. Actaully all dogs are. Both a poodle and a latese need to be groomed at least once a month. Maybe you should get a cat.

all dogs require alot of attention and maintence. if you are referring to more of not having to take them to the groomer etc. if you get a short haired dog there isn't as much grooming needs as a long haired dog. (my chihuahua gets a bath every 2 weeks and i can't brush him because his hair is too short.)
