i have works 8 for laptop but the cd wont load as theres a few scratches on it,is there anyway to repair it or do i have to shell out for a knew copy?

i had a disk that had scratches and wouldent enstall
but just for fun a tried to copy it to my desk top it worked
try this first
i have used furniture polish , warm soapy water ,T-cut ,them sticky covers, even hot water just off the boil . all have worked but not perfect

Try using brasso or car scratch remover with a soft cloth to gently work out the scratches - no grantees! But it usually works for me.

Take it to a music store. They should have a gadget that rubs off a layer of lacq, removing most of the surface scrathes. Ask nice and maybe buy a cd afterwards.
