I know what answers you want me to give but instead I'm going to give factual answers (sorry if you don't approve).

1 - Women are often better cooks but that's because we live in a society that still sees women as housewives, cooks, baby-makers etc. However, the world’s best cooks and chefs are primarily male.

2 - Men are the better drivers. It's often cited that women have lower insurance premiums and fewer accidents but this fails to put the figures into perspective. Insurance premiums are generally 15 to 25% lower but women drive 55% fewer miles so their premiums should be 55% less (unless of course they're more likely to have accidents). Women are responsible for about 30% of all accidents but only drive 12% of all the miles. It is however true to say that the most dangerous drivers on the roads are male - especially those who are under 25. But overall men have fewer accidents in respect of the number of miles driven.

3 - I don't have any facts on this but physiologically and psychologically women will be a better parent.

4 - Women live longer, an average of 5 or 6 years in the western world (depending on which country you're in). However, a body dies basically when it becomes 'worn out'. Men work harder than women therefore they 'wear out' quicker. In countries where men are held in high regard and women do all the work it's the women who die younger.

5 - Wouldn't know about conversation starters but the best conversationalists and orators are nearly always men - look at any famous speech in history.

6 - Can't say and I don't have any facts on which to base an answer.

7 - Depending what you consider to be 'better' determines what answer you will give. If better means the most popular then the answer is men - the Beatles being the most popular group ever and Elvis being the most popular soloist ever (the female equivalents being The Bangles and Madonna). If better means the most professional then the answer is also men - whether you like them or not there's no disputing that the likes of Sinatra and Pavarotti are / were first class performers. Classical singers are better singers (quality wise) then popular singers and the majority of classical singers are male. Popular singers are not necessarily all that good at singing but if you look at the charts and what's popular right now it's primarily male.

The answer to all the above is male. It would have been just as easy to ask 'negative' questions such as Who is the most violent, who's most likely to be a criminal etc (male again). But selecting a bunch of questions at random doesn't really prove anything as it's only one tiny part of the overall picture.

You have to bear in mind that, despite advances towards equality, there is still much stereotyping and expectations placed on men and women that tend to steer men in one direction and women in another. If men and women were brought up without any of the traditional stereotyping and without any expectations placed on them then there would be significant changes in the way men and women perform.

Women are still discriminated against in today's society and unfortunately attempts to legislate against this tend to cause bitterness and resentment and force discrimination underground or cause it to manifest itself in other ways. The women who are held in highest regard in society are those who have achieved something on their own and not because governments have given them a hand along the way.

Anyway, you're going to get 2 sets of answers for the price of one as my girlfriend has just read the question and answer.

She agrees with all my answers except that women are the better cooks - her mother is the best cook in the world and I have to agree with that. Also, she feels that women are better at making friends.
