Why do Celtic think they can get £10million for Stillian Petrov?

They may think that he's worth ten million but come on get real, He would be a reserve team player in the Premiership no matter who signed him. He would be better staying put and be a so called star up here.

And anyway as a Rangers fan even i would agree he is stepping down clubs if he left celtic as they are bigger than anything the premiership has to offer outwith the top three of Man Utd, Chelsea & Liverpool & maybe Arsenal at a push

So what price does that put on the head of Stilian Petrov? £5m if you read the press these days.

Established player at Champions League level with more than a few goals there(just like Gerrard and Lampard), veteran of a European final(unlike Lampard), captain of his country and holder of more than a few winners medals.

Given all that, don't you think Petrov is maybe worth more than £10 million?

No way. Typical arrogant Celtic think they can trick everyone into paying far too much for a mediocre player at best. Celtic would be lucky to give him away as he's played for Celtic, and he'll never be the same again, especially after the frontal lobotomy that he received in order to be able to stand playing for the worlds most fucked up football side. Its mainly coz Hristo Stoichkov the Bulgarian manager has talked Stillian Petrov up so much that Celtic actually believe that he is actually worth that much!! on a personal note, whos to say that he isn't worth that much!! especially with the inflated market at the mo.

Yes..I know a story about him and I feel everyone should know about it. Sometimes we only hear about the bad things...Celtic did this, rangers did that .... Stan Petrov donated the jersey he wore in Seville to a Scottish children's charity auction ....the proceedings went to under-priveldged kids in Scotland. It went for £15,000. The highest bidder? £10 million is a steal, Petrov is a quality player and is easily worth that. Although the wage Celtic pay him probably doesn't equate, therefore they can't ask that for him.

He was worth maybe 8m about 2 seasons ago but after all this crap plus he wants away then Celtic will be LUCKY to get 5m although if this billionaire thats joined Villa really wants him then he should have 10m to give away but does that matter cos the Celtic board will put it in the bank and not spend it!

thats easy because when martin oneil was the celtic manager he valued petrov at £10 million and told all the newspapers that was what he was worth,now oneil is the manager of aston villa he wants to buy petrov,so celtic are saying ok then its £10 million,i bet he wishes he kept his mouth shut lol.

Because he is actually worth that.

He is an excellent midfielder who scores a large number of goals.

He is an excellent international player and is captain of his international team.
