He's definately p*ssed away tons of money, I would say this guy's life has been a huge waste of potential and a disappointment and I think that Maurice Clarrett is turning into the modern day Mike Tyson minus all the money.

His has been fighting as a young man beating hardened men. I first read about him when he was a teenager 16 years old fighting a 27 year old by the name of Craig Payne. He beat him knocking him down and dominating the fight so he was no bum he bungled his way into boxing. You don't defend the title as much as he did and win the fights he did over the talented fighters and be a bum. He was talented.
My assessment. Who am I to judge, and what have I done with my life before I assume the role of judge. I think he did waste his assets and skills. Affiliated with Don King wasn't a smart move, and yes he did go to jail but boxing is full of guys one step from going into prison or are currently going or gone to prison. Assessment could have done better and can still improve its never too late. Yes he can be dangerous person to associate with, especially with his past behaviour.

ok i completely disagree with you, but im not going to be judgemental, i have no right to judge you (as you have no right to judge me as a misguided boxing fan)
is he extremely dangerous? most definitely. he is a (former?) pro boxer, and of them are dangerous. he was raised in a bad environment, but that seems to only be excusable to teens who rob and kill people.
He is techinically bankrupt, but does that make him a bad person because he doesnt have money? Completely unfair statement, i know broke people who are more happy with their lives than millionaires. War vets defend this country, come home and become homeless, while draft dodgers inherit money and trust funds from their rich parents. money only determines the quality of your living, not the quality of your life.
i would be associated with him, i would hang out with him. i think what he needs is true friendship, with plenty of people, who dont just want fame and fortunes.
yes he was imprisoned for raping a beauty pageant winner, but that doesnt mean he did it. look at his lawyers, he had a TAX LAWYER defending him in court, they didnt know what they were doing, Mike did the time then said he would go thru the trial again, and if found guilty, do the time again, but he wants to prove he didnt do it. he said he should have raped her that way the punishment fits the crime, not a very smart thing to say, but still lol.
i was polite by the way, even though i disagree with your reasoning. sorry for such a long answer.
he was also the youngest heavyweight champ ever... something worth bragging about.

Well, he was abused when he was a kid. He had a lot of mental problems that he never got help for. He abused a lot of people, and himself, but I wouldn't call his life a complete waste.
After all, he did generate money for others. Promoters, venues, cable TV, the media, etc. And frankly, it was the only way Robin Givens could make it onto Oprah.

He squandered his fortunes. I can't imagine a boxer who made over $250,000,000 in earnings lose it all. It's just sad.
