Download Azureus Bit torrent client. It's free. Turn the firewall off. Go to http://torrentscan.com/. There are all sites for downloading torrents. Search for anything you want. Download torrent file with as much seeders/leachers as possible. Run the torrent file with Azureus and enjoy.

the only trusted and safe site to download free software is download.com(http://www.download.com/)
this has 1000,s of files and all are spyware free allthough you should scan them before you install them,as this will get you used to doing this to all files,its good security pratice
one thing i will say,their download speeds can be slow,best time to download is after midnight or early morning

Many sites offer you free software for a limited period. But no specific site can offer any software which is subject to be sold on comercial bases.So There is just one soluttion in my openion,and it's CRACKS.they do a good job for people who cannot afford any expensive thing.

Depends what it is you're looking for.
Two sites that have thousands of different downloads are http://www.download.com and http://www.tucows.com There's a lot of free stuff here http://dl.winsite.com/ but I'd recommend the first two.
