Before I had children, I thought they were cruel and hideous.

I believed that until the day my 3 year old daughter disappeared in a department store. She ducked under one of those clothes trees. I hope I never again experience that feeling of dread that settled into the pit of my stomach. I was literally out of my mind.

I finally found her. It was the longest 3 minutes of my life. I'm not someone who lets his children run willy nilly through public places. All it took was half a second.

Getting back to your question, I think they are a stroke of genius.

As long as it is for the safety of the child. In some cases there are toddlers that have a tendency to run off posing a danger when there is traffic or dangerous animals around. Having the child on a leash or tether may prove to save the child's life or prevent the child from becoming seriously harmed. As long as it's legal to do so then it's OK with me.

i am a mother, and I know how hard it is keeping up with kids(even good moms have problems keeping up with a two yr old). Holding hands is what I do but sometimes they pull away. I do not use the leash BUT if it works for you in a nonabusive way I say use it. Its not like they are making them eat out of dog bowls. Plus it gives them the freedom of being independent with you still having a "leash" on them. Its not like its around their neck either.

I think its horrid .
I mean how would u feel if u were put on a leash .
They are also very dangerouse they could get chocked .
Dogs are supposed 2 be on leashes not children .
That just what i think , u don't have 2 think the same .

Ive never used a leash on any of my children but if you go to popular places where there are a lot of people i can see the benefits in using them. Some places like disney and fairs because they are so crowded its not just a way to keep track of your child but its a lot harder for someone else to grab them and run

Well maybe if they learned how to bring up children and make sure they know how to listen properly, they wouldn't have to resort to using a leash to make sure their children listen to them and stay close.

If you can't make sure your kid listens to you when you go out, don't go out yet, stay at home and try to figure out what you did wrong.

My cousin's friend was put on a leash when he was a kid. He didn't like that and when he was in the middle of the mall with his parents, he started barking really loud. They took him off that right away

(sorry - not attacking anyone - just my house is SURROUNDED by at least 30 kids that have no respect for adults cause none of their parents know what they are doing!!!)

i always thought it was cruel and embarrassing that people put leashes on kids,, until i lose my son at the mall,, he was standing next to me, as i talk to a sale person , no more the 2 minute pass he was gone took security 25 minutes to find him he was half a mall away from me, so now he is out on a leash until he understand not to run away,,

In one way, I think it's a great idea, because you know where they are and they won't wander off and no one will grab them. In another way, I think it's wrong to leash someone like they were a pet, controlling their every move. Most likely, though, I won't leash my kids.

Before I had kids I thought it was horrible- that they were treating their kids like dogs- but the first time my toddler got away from me in public I wanted to get one! I never did, but now I think that being embarrased by having your kid on a leash is not nearly as painful as loosing your child.

Have you seen how some kids act in a store...They need leashes..The ones that run around and are into everything....actually their parents need to be more attentive too
When my kids were younger I never let them run around and always had my eye on them...
