How do you make lapton wireless?

I have a laptop and want to connect to the internet wireless, What other things do I need in order to do that?

First try
connecting from within laptop. Many laptops will have technology built inside. If this is the case your still going to need a wireless router to convert your broadband internet to a wireless version if getting on at home.

Second try
If it doesn't have tech inside you'll need to buy a PCMIA card to slide into your laptop bay. Still need the router.

Or
if you don't have the internet service and don't have tech built inside; or wnat to get internet service that you can use every where, you
can purchase a special card from wireless providers like sprint and verizon that will allow you to get on the internet everywhere these companies have reception.

I just did this with my Presario V214. First, you have to have DSL, high speed internet. (I had Verizon on my desktop @ home) Then, purchase and install a Linksys Wireless G Router. I needed help with the router installation and Verizon also, but both tech supports were great. I took a little while, but I've been wireless since. good luck.

there is a slot on the side a dummy card and a button win you press the buuto in the button will pop out with the dummy card will pop out this is the wirless expantion port push the button in to reinsert the dummy card, the dummy card is a dust cover, go to where they sell wirless supplys there should be a thing that fitsin there ther are othr alternitives but this is most compact option buy it and put it in push the button IN first then insert the card

if your laptop has a wireless network card, then u can do that, just go to start>control panel> network connections> and click on "wireless network". then you can connect to the network you choose wirelessly.
