The only thing that may help is laying down, with all the lights off, and put a cold rag on your head. I highly recommend doing that in addition to taking some Excedrin Migraine pills, but if you don't want to take anything, just try doing that.

I have had migraines since I was a teen, and now my preteen daughter sometimes gets them. I have taught her when she feels like one may be coming on, to determine (1) has she eaten anything lately? (2) has she had any caffeine recently? (3) is she getting overheated? (4) is she very stressed out? and (5) does she have sinus involvement? In the case of #1 and 2, doing those 2 things can help prevent one - just eating some crackers or drinking a cup of Coke. With #3 and 4, NOT doing those things can help the headache subside - maybe lie in a cool dark room and relax. For #5, maybe try a hot shower or even a decongentant pill to relieve sinus pressure which can trigger a migraine. I also have gotten relief at times from a visit to my chiropractic doctor. Good luck!

I've had problems with migraines for years. In the past I have used marijuana to help with the symptoms. It helps but I don't advise it because there are so many other health risks involved with smoking. There are a number of prescription drugs on the market that are safe and work just as well or better than marijuana. Another thing that has really helped me is to identify any foods or situations that tend to trigger the headaches and try to avoid them. Exercise can also help. I started doing 30+ minutes of cardio per day and the headaches do not happen nearly as often. Good luck.

If you are really having migraines, I feel bad for you because I know how bad they hurt. I don't know of anything that will help without taking medication. My sister also had migraines and went to a doctor and had acupunture done and has not had a migraine in about ten years now. It may be something worth checking into. A doctor told me to go into a dark, quiet room and put a cold rag on my forehead and a heat pad to the back of my neck and lay there really still. I have noticed that migraines come on because of to much sun or things that we eat. I hope you find some relief from yours. Good Luck.

Try Vervain Tea available at most health food stores!
Most Migraines come from a lack of Oxygen to the Brain!
This can be for a number of different reasons. Vervain will increase the flow of Oxygen to the brain. If it doesn't go see a doctor.. You might have a blockage somewhere.. could be a tumour! Don't worry or jump the ggun. Just Try the Vervain 1st.. Usually Vervain alerts the mind but if your body is too stressed out it can do the opposite.but this happens only in extreme stressed out situations. This case it is simply allowing your body to normalize it's self!

There are certain things that trigger migraines. Everyone's are different. If you're caffiene junkie, just make sure that you don;t go with out, try avoiding really salty foods, anything with MSG ( chinese food, and Chili Restaurants), drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, and avoid food that have a lot of preservatives.
Other than preventing them, once you have one drink lots of water, lay down in a dark room. And this is really gross, but it's worked for me. When the puking feeling starts, drink some water , and make yourself vomit. It seems to relieve some of the pressure or something and make the headache go away.

I find having a warm bath helps. There is also a topical ointment you can apply to your temples and forhead called Tiger Balm.It is soothing because it has menthal properties to it and it helps relax tension and ease pain.
If this is not enough and you need to take something else I find Ibuprofin works best.Tylenol and Aspirin do nothing for me , neither did feverfew or other prescriptions. Also , Ibuprofin seems to work in very low doses as appose to the others.
You might consider learning some meditative techniques where you envision your headache easing as you rest. They say mind over matter.Hope that helps.

Migraine syndrome is an inflamation of part of the nervous system which causes an imbalance of the autonomic nervous system. Thus explaining how it can have an effect on so many parts of the body.Chiropractors see these patients after they have tried everything else. And still get results. Is very definitely worth a try.

I don't recommend treating migraines without medication unless you can deal with the pain, the nausea, sensitivity to light and sound. Sometimes dealing with the symptoms can be just as unbearable than the pain itself.
But if you do want to try to manage them without medication I recommend a cold compress to the forehead, laying down in a completely dark, quiet room.

Lady, Did you have your babies without drugs..? Migraines hurt and you may need to take medication. There are some medications you can take when you feel a migraine coming on , "an Ora". ...I would definitely try to advise your Doctor to prescribe something for you to help prevent you from having a full blown migraine.
Good Luck!
