No First you boil the water then add the macaroni and then bring the water to a boil again until it is tender. After that pour the macaroni into a colander in the sink and run cold water over it to not only cool it off fast but also to stop it from cooking longer. After that you add mayo and any other ingred, you may have. sliced radishes, celery, onion, chopped tomatoe, tuna fish and peas if you want a tuna mac salad which is delicious. It's better if you let it set in the refridgerator for a few hours but you may also need to add a litte more mayo (Hellmanns is the best) if it looks like the noodles absorbed the mayo too much.

I like to boil my macoroni in beef stock or veggie stock or even chicken stock for salads, give a tad flavor. i tried fish stock once when i added crab and shrimp , but it was littlew much for me, but you have to try to know.
