Hang in there, Devil Dog Jason! Stay safe, keep your powder dry and you'll be home before you know it. The pre-season NFL will be over, so you can see the REAL games, baseball will be getting into the fight for the playoffs ... maybe the weather will be cooling down - as to be cooler than Iraq, right?!
You don't hear it enough, but your service is appreciated. Even over there, you are truly defending the USA.
From Jefferson City, Missouri, heart of the country, stay strong, Marine. YOU CAN DO IT!

You're son Jason is a fine young man.
I wish there were more young men willing to serve for their Country.
I am from Scotland and have lost relatives in the 1st & 2nd World Wars and are proud of them although I never knew them.
My husband was in the Navy in the 1970s and saw many sights that he will always keep to himself.
Your son will be back home with you soon and telling made up stories to the younger ones in the family who will look upon him with pride and want to be just like him........the truths he will keep to himself.
After he has been home a few weeks he will start to miss his mates in the mob and be itching to get back with the lads, wherever that may be.
Jason - be proud of your chosen profession, you will experience highs and lows that us in civvy street don't have a clue about and there should be more like you.
Keep up the good work and don't let the horrors that are going on in our world overshadow all that is good.

To Jason: I had a son in the military a few years ago; he is now in college. You are doing something incredibly hard and brave, despite your homesickness. With luck, your deployment will be over soon and you will be back with your family. Remember when you were in boot camp and wondered how you would get through it? Just focus on each day as it comes, because that is all any of us really have. Make each day the best you can, by helping someone else. Time will pass.

What helped me when i was in Iraq was to think of how good i was going to have it when i got home. Tell him to take it one day at a time, with a month left hes almost home. Tell him how proud you and his family are of him and how much you love him. Send him lots of letters, emails etc..Once he gets home be there for him as soon as he gets off the plane, buss or ship and provide the best homecoming possible.

Thank you James, for your sacrifice half a world away. Don't believe what you hear in the media. There are plenty of us who appreciate what you and your fellows are doing. You can be very proud of the fact that you chose to serve your country in this way. I pray you come home to your family safe and sound, and remember there are certain ideals that are always worth fighting for. Semper Fi!

Yes not only serving his country but If he got that far you can truly call him a man(even though we both know he will always be your little boy). Be proud of him maybe this United States wouldnt be so screwed up if we had more like him. Ask yourself this mom were would we be now if saddam were still in power?

Hey Jason. I understand that you are going to come home in a month. I just want to ask you to hang in there and remember that you are thought of and prayed for daily, and loved always. We all meet in prayers and share the same stars in the sky - so when you pray or look to the stars, remember that you are not alone and that you are loved. So, I wish you well, in the meantime, and welcome you home soon. from South Carolina

Hang in there Jason you will be out of hell in a month. Stay strong and know that there are lots of people who support you.
When the days get extremely tough
Dream of daffodils in the park, snow glistening on trees, and rainbows over the ocean.
Thank you for all that you are doing
May God watch over you.
