okay, theres this girl, and all her friends keep telling me that we should go out cause she likes me, and that we would be a cute couple, but i didnt really know her that well. soon though, i started seeing more of her and talking to her, and i noticed that i really felt the same way about her. so now theres a dance that came up for ourswim team, and i dance with her and we talk, and she all of a sudden stops talking and noticing me. her friends still say that shes crazy about me but when i see her, she seems interested in other guys. what is she thinking about when she sees me? how do i show her that i want to be with her, without blowing it if she doesnt feel the same way?

I don't know how old you are, but I'm assuming that you're still in high school. If I'm right, I can assume that this is probably the first time you've had feelings for a girl and had some feeling that she had feelings for you. Having said that, I can say that she is probably feeling uneasy and shy. It's often hard to tackle these sorts of emotions when you're young. It might have been too much at once or maybe she's being influenced by her peers. Girls are a cliquish sort and can heavily influence this girls feelings. I would give it time. You might want to catch her alone to talk to her. Or you might just want to let it lie.

graham, you're asking why a woman does the things she does. Nobody knows that. I would suggest what some others have suggested: ask her out. See which way the wind is blowing, of if there's even a breeze.
You could ask her what happened at the dance, but it's unlikely you'll get the true answer. Don't look back, be positive and ask her out.

she might be trying to show off and play hard to get. Guys get very jealous very easily so she might be trying to win you over by reeling you in. Just be like what do you think it would be like if we went out? maybe even in a sarcastic way. see what she says and how she reacts. that way if she looks disgusted you can say you were kidding cause you guys are such good friends, but if she looks interested, you know you can go in for the kill without being shut down. Also, have some mutual friends talk to her, but be non chilant about it...if she figures out you have feelings for her, and she feels the same way, your friends will set you guys up.

Maybe she is just playing hard to get or even shy. She could also not be ready for a serious relationship, either way you have to find out. You should take it slow and see where it ends up!

maybe she would like you to be more direct, such as asking her to be your date at the next swimteam dance, or asking her if she would like to go fora bike ride to the donut shop..etc.
All I can remember from being young, was the one thing I wanted from anyone I met was for them to ask me direct questions, such as, did you grow up in this city? town?. What is your family like?Why don't you talk much? or what are your secret ambitions, just like the song from the King and I (a fifties broadway musical )says..getting to know you. okay maybe what's happening is that this girl does like you but she is trying to make you jealous with other guys.
So dont wait talk to her and ask her out before she starts thinking your not intersted in her.

next time you see her say hi and walk on by, act as if you really could care less. if nothing else it will make her think. itll be like that stupid song you hear in the morning that you cant get out of your head all day.

Ok, sometimes girls like to put themselves higher, in order to make you "work" for them. Maybe she is thinking that you are getting the idea that it will be easy to get her, and so now she is playing the "hard to get" role, just to see if you are really interested.
If you really think she worth it, just keep trying, if not, just find another one!

SHe's playing mind games with you. she's probably just trying to make you jealous to see if you really like her. It sounds very childish I know, but it sounds like you guys are kids yourselves. She might want you to "chase " after her for awhile. That's my guess but it's been awhile since I was in high school.
