A good veggie and potato salad that's absolutely delicious and basic to make (and if you don't get the exact measurements correct, it won't matter!)

Boil a few potatoes, carrots, and turnips if you like. Dice into small square bits once peeled and boiled. (It is easier to peel the carrots when boiled, the skin comes right off. The potatoes don't have to be peeled if you get the right kind, with the edible skins.)

Dice some fresh peeled apples and a few dill pickles. Boil two or three eggs (depending on how much of the other ingredients you have) and dice those as well. Add a can of canned peas.
Mix everything together.

Next, mix in a few tabelespoons of mayo and mustard, enough to get it to the consistency of potato salad. Add salt and pepper and mix in well.

Voila! Delicious salad! I promise you'll love it when you try it, and it's a hit at parties. My mom has been making this forever, and I never ever get tired of it. Plus it's healthy!

Hor D'oeuvre idea.

Cherry tomatoes. Cut off the very top and fill with a mixture of baby shrimp, mayo (or cottage or cream cheese) some onion salt and a tiny sprig of dill for decor. Yummy good, easy to eat, handle and different.

I would say hor d'oeuvres. Something that is easy to pick up and eat. A salad may wilt by the time it's ready to be eaten. How about mini egg rolls or pigs in a blanket?

Broccoli- Ham Ring
KK

1 lb ham (not boiled)
1 small onion
1 Bunch of fresh broccoli
2 T Dijon mustard
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
3 heaping T mayonnaise
2-8oz cans crescent rolls

Chop ham, broccoli and onions. Combine all except for crescent rolls. Lay crescent in a deep dish to form a ring with the large ends placed in the center (they can overlap). Spoon mixture on top if crescent rolls. Bring the pointed end of rolls over top.

This recipe is designed to be used in a "pampered chef" dish.. I have never made it in any other kind of dish.

I also made this in a rectangle shape making a "braided" effect. This is very easy and very quick.

1 pkg Jimmy Dean sausage( any flavor)
1 pound hamburger
1 small box Velveeta cheese
1 loaf party bread ( sourdough, rye, or pumpernickel)( I use english muffins)

Fry your sausage&hamburger till its done then drain. Then add it back to the fry pan and add your veleveeta cheese, a little at a time, just kepp mixing it until it all comes together. This usually takes about 15-20 minutes. Then spread your little party breads out on a cookie sheet, spoon a little bit of the sausage/hamburger/cheese mixture onto each one, and then you want to bake these under the broiler just until they reach a light brown color.

This looks like a lot of ingredients, but it's really quite easy and inexpensive to prepare:

VEG-ALL MACARONI SALAD

1 box ring macaroni or 1/2 package small ditali pasta (cooked and drained)
1 large red onion, diced
1 cucumber, diced
1 cup celery, diced
2 (16 oz.) cans Veg-all vegetables, drained
1 (16 oz.) package frozen vegetable of your choice, cooked as directed on package (I usually use corn)
1-2 tomatoes or red pepper

Mix ingredients together, adding pasta last - add pasta a little at a time, it's easy to add too much, just put in as much as it takes to still look colorful from the other ingredients

DRESSING

Combine together:

1 1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. parsley flakes
1 Tbsp. dill weed
3/4 cup white vinegar
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 1/2 tsp. pepper

Heat in pan until sugar is melted - don't have to boil it, just until sugar is melted. Cool and pour over salad.

Refrigerate overnight before serving. Stir before serving.
