Why are half of the questions and answers on this site composed of crazy, illegible chicken scratch? I can understand some people just can't spell(even though there is an on-board spell checker), or even grammer errors are fine. Bun some people use slang, abbreviations, laziness, stupidity I don't know what it is. Please help me to understand. Hopefully its just laziness and society isn't really that dim witted. Sorry don't mean to offend anyone. P.S. I do realize that my own writing probably wouldn't get an A+ with an English teacher, but at least you can comprehend my words and I'm energetic enough to scroll up 4 inches to click the check spelling button.

Las Vegas, you are right-it should be but, not bun. I said I'm not perfect either.

Also the fact that many people on this site are from other countries would account for a lot. They're doing a heck of a lot better than I ever would trying to communicate in another language.

The correct answers would be:

A-There are people from all over the world on here, not just English and some have a hard time with the language.
B-There is a mass of children on here with a limited educational level.
C-Some folks get in a hurry typing and don't bother checking their words.
D-We are all guilty of typos!
E-Even the well educated will come across words which they are not sure of the spelling since they have used them very little in their lives.
F-Some people really are ignorant, uninformed or uneduated.
G-All of the above

I pick G. :) oops... did I typo agin and again and uggin? LOL

One more possibility: Maybe someone actually keeps their computer in the chicken coop and they are pecking on the keyboard.

When you point one finger, see the others are pointing at you? you are that much guilty.

Did you do spell check before posting your question?

First - Grammer is not correct. Grammar is the right spelling.
Second - your typo: Bun. It should read But. (spell checker may not catch this one, OK, I excuse you).

Dim witted. should read dimwitted. (no space. again spell checker won't catch that either).

There are plenty grammatical errors in your sentences. It just does not flow right, and at times it does not make sense. I will not be so over critical. I will let it go. You admitted it in later sentences so, you can be excused.

I am just making a point here so don't take it the wrong way. See? When someone corrects you, it is not polite. It is condescending (look up, if you do not understand this word).

Just go with the flow Joe. Take it with a grain of salt and move on.

There's a spelling button? Oh I see it. Thanks.

Take comfort in the fact that with a proper education and use of the English language, it is probably easier for you to get a job, and when you do, it will most likely pay more.

Let them have their chicken scratch. Besides, half of these people are still in high school.

Some people are just lazy, sadly though a lot of people really are that dim witted. You can either try to help the ones you meet or look on the bright side and know that you'll do better than them in life.

I know an English teacher who has quit the public school system because she says that most of her students will not do homework, are lazy, do not care, do not pay attention in class, and are more interested in drug, booze and each other than they are in getting an education. Therefore, most of them can expect to never get a decent job or end up in prison or dead before their time.

I don't think you are being overly critical at all. I can't believe that people would get through school spelling that way. At least I hope they wouldn't.

Earth Queen, high school is no place for chicken scratch.

People are getting too used to IM which needs to be short and sweet. I think young people addicted to IM are going to be in serious trouble when they get a real job and are expected to communicate intelligently in the real world.

Maybe you don't mean to be, but you sound very condescending. Also spelling does not seem to be such a big deal in schools nowadays.I get very upset when I see things like: u for you; c for see; 4 used for for etc.

Soon, we will all just be grunting or we will have a language that is comprised of shorter words because of laziness

Maybe most of them haven't been schooled in reading, writing, spelling and grammar!
