my brother had this accident when he was 4 yrs old. we were living in sierra-leone at the time and the child minder done this to him. my mum helped to look after the scars when he was younger, as he got older and wanted privacy it became his responsibility. he does not look after his scars. we have gone to the family GP and he will refer him back to ST THOMAS HOSPITAL where he had most of his surgery. i feel he may need some counselling as he is having problems with relationships. if anyone has a number or address of a good counseller i would be very grateful. im still searching the web

Tell him to apply the Homeopathic Remedy CALENDULA OINTMENT it is known to help remove scar tissue plus he can take SILICEA 30C thrice a day half hour before or after meals it will help in removing his scars very effectively and without any side effects or complications.
Take care and God Bless you !

One thing you can do is to take a 400 IU softgel of Vitamin E, then CAREFULLY poke a hole in it. Squeeze out the oil and spread it out evenly onto the affected area. If you have more than one area that's been affected, spread out the amount that's used evenly to each area. One important point that none of the others have mentioned is that you should NOT use too much Vitamin E... it is fantastic for healing up skin and preventing scars, but too much vitamin E can build up to toxic levels in your body. If you get a liquid Vitamin E, make sure you follow the recommendations on the limits (typically no more than 1,000 IU per day including supplements taken internally). If it is too sensitive to massage an oil on it, try soaking it in Aloe until it feels good enough to massage the Vitamin E in. Also, if you would like more benefits, there are some supplements you could take internally to help the health of your skin. Some of the most popular ones are Biotin, Silica (commonly from Horsetail), Squalene, Hyaluronic Acid, MSM, L-Cysteine, Collagen, and most antioxidants. Good luck!

Take him to your local GP - they should be able to make an appointment for him with the local hospital - if the scars are that obvious then he should be provided with treatment under the NHS.
I am worried how he got the acid burn scars and why he had to have a lot of surgery as a child. Maybe you have more information for us?

Only a good plastic surgeon can evaluate. Sometimes the scars need to age before they can be revised

Find a clinical psychologist in your area. It is more important that he see someone right away if he is depressed, than to wait until you get referred to one in particular. That's a very tragic situation, however he can manage better with professional help. Also, maybe he can try an anti-depressant. They can be very helpful, especially in his situation. There is alot of help out there......
