"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen. "

Wonderful words to be studied and taken heed of if need be. Thing is, how many speak of these beliefs but don't really adhere to them. I believe in HIM period. HE gives and takes when or what HE chooses to and if HE gives part of something and not the rest, then HE knows why not . I humbly accept whatever HE allows me to have. If I want and seek something that is not within my reach, HE is stopping me from having for my best interest. If HE decides to give to me, HE will, when HE gets ready to do so. In the meantime, I seek patience by spiritual belief, prayer, and true love of another forever as a gift from HIM .......

Sometimes I do need serenity to accept the things I cannot change, although I've never lacked the courage to try to change the things I can.
My most serious lack, though, has to be in the wisdom to know the difference!!

Never heard of that second part.

The original, asks for peace of mind and the intellect to flow with that which is God's Will.

Your second part must be from A.A.
