i love my mother in law to death
in fact, when i get mad at my hubby....i go run over to her house LOL

Maybe the mother-in-law has trouble with not being the main woman in her son's life. She doesn't want to give up her power and influence to his new wife, or just wants the best for her boy. Really I think it's a power struggle between the two women. In an odd way, the guy should feel flattered (when he's not busy being annoyed by the female bickering)

I think that a lot of mother-in-laws never feel that their daughter-in-laws are good enough for their sons and therefore this can cause ALOT of resentment to a daughter-in-law, but more so, look at the position that it puts the poor son/husband in!

Because most men are still attached at the navel to their mothers, and the mother-in-law will never be satisfied with the choice their son has made for a wife. My husband is the only one out of three children who actually takes care of his family, works hard for our future, loves his wife, and is succeeding in life. But that's not good enough for his mom. I still respect her. She produced a beautiful son (I say produced, because she didn't actually "raise" him in her drug-induced abusive lifestyle- she is clean now and is living a normal life.). And I'll be nice to her because I love my hubby and God tells me to treat people as I want to be treated. And I am to show her God's love.

Because no woman is good enough for their baby boys is why. My MIL hates me. I am now the mother of a son and I just hope I am not the same way when he gets older! lol

It's because the MIL is used to being the main woman in her son's life and now the DIL has taken over that role. Also, many MIL see the DIL as never being good enough for their sons.

I wish I knew. My MIL is such a mean B**** that she told me I could do better than her son. Of course, the whole time, she was still corresponding with his ex. Hmmmm.... Needless to say, she is the one not in our lives.

because they're both "fighting" over the "love" of the same person. (i use the word "fight" very loosely here) who in this case is a son/husband. they have to realize, that the love he feels is alot but different for both women; who also happen to be the most important women in his life.
