It depeneds on the type of ulcer. Some ulcers are caused by bacteria called H pylori. If this is the case, then treatments to kill the bacteria are necessary. However, other ulcers may require surgery. It is important to talk to your doctors as soon as you notice any symptoms. Symptoms include vomiting blood, or pain in the upper stomach that is relieved by antacids.

they can get a lot worse and bleed causing death if untreated,a triple course of medication is all that is needed to treat one,and it shouldnt return
