Yes. You can bring what ever you like as long as it fits in carry-on (like a laptop) and is not considered a weapon. The new security rules apply to carry-on liquids on some flights. If the Nintendo is in an unopened box and it looks like you may sell it in Tahiti - then the customs people in Tahiti may ask you about it - and make you declare it.
