I have witnessed many corrupt things going on in the public school systems...and there is no one trying to help the children. The biggest reason for this is that no one is believing the childrens complaints! I do not know about you but I think that I would believe my child anyday over their teacher! (over understandable things, of course.) What can we do to stop this? How can we force the principals and other members of the faculty to take our children seriously? Many things went ignored when I was still in school, including, drug deals with teachers, public humiliation by teachers (forcing children to wear orange jumpsuits!), hidden cameras in the bathrooms, sexual predators among the faculty...and so many others...how can we change this so that schools will be better for the generations to come?

umm do not even tell me that some schools do not have hidden cameras in the bathrooms!!! I am not saying all of the teachers are aware of it...but some people that work in the school put them in to watch our children...i know because there were some discovered in my old school...they had been put in by the principal...luckily he was a dumb@ss and he had charged them to the schools credit card...or else no one would have found out...

ok i do understand that children are known to exaggerate...but i am not saying we should call in the national guard everytime our children tell us their teacher is really a 6 headed alien! I am talking about when teachers are just sitting around not teaching our children anything because they are too busy ordering avon on their cell phone! This is exactly what I am talking about...no one listens...

I wish I knew. There is a whole lot wrong with our education system.
I believe mostly everything my children tell me.
There are some GREAT teachers out there, however there are the ones who are just there cause they have to be. Many HATE kids! So then why the hell did they get into teaching! I think we should be able to award the good teachers and punish the bad. I also think we should be able to chose which school we want our children to attend without having to move. Like I said there is plenty wrong with our educational system. Hopefully we'll get someone who is SERIOUS about education to run for President, then hopefully have EVERYONE vote for them. I think it needs to be a Woman! LOL

On the contrary, one of the biggest problems at public schools is that parents believe the children over the teachers.

Most people working in education really just want to help the kids.

On the other hand, kids will get away with as much as they think they can. I've seen plenty of children who know that they can lie to their parents and the parents will always believe them. That way, they escape punishment for their bad behavior in school.

There are no hidden cameras in the bathrooms. Public schools can't even afford toilet paper.

Kids are discounted because they don't have a power base yet and are usually underestimated as far as intellect goes.
I would trust kids more than most adults. They haven't been conditioned into lying as much, and are much more straight forward in almost anything.
The major problem with this is, that the problem is with humanity. And that won't change soon in any meaningful way.
The thing to do is, get to know your kid(s) well, so you'll be able to judge whether they are lying to you or the grownups that (possibly) abuse them.

i know what u mean. my son and practically all of his class failed math last yr because the teacher never gave them homework. when i set up a conference to ask if this was true, he said it was because he was too busy to be able to check homework papers on a daily basis. huh. i asked the principal what he thought of this and all he could do was give me a patronizing answer about each teacher being accredited, etc. this yr my son tells me that his reading teacher allows them to say curse words. what?!!! my how times have changed! and this is one of the best jr highs in the area. i shudder to think that our future is in the hands of kids who know how to curse and not much else, sadly. i wonder what the principal will say this time.

Glad I didn't go to your school. Kids do tend to distort the truth. I am no fan of the public school system, but this sounds a little far fetched.

Children tend to exaggerate especially when it comes to anything they hate. There needs to be more councelling available in the schools in case anything bad is happening.

because we all get caught up in our work we don't make as much time for our kids. i made a folder for my 8 year old any questions she has she can put in there. i write in to ask her questions too. that way if she has something shes afarid she might get introuble for saying she can write it down. Believe me she came home last year when she was in 2nd grade talking about sex.. the folder really helps
