give thumbs down to everyone with a different opinion? Do you really only want to hear what you want to hear? Doesn't that make you seperatists? Can't you respect other views?

I respect everyone's views and beliefs, more than anything because I believe strongly in freedom of speech, religion, etc. If someone wants to know about my faith, I will tell them about it, but I don't go around shoving my views and beliefs down people's throats. I respect different cultures and I love to learn about them. I don't think your question should be restricted to Christians or even religion because people of all creeds, cultures, races, ethnicities, etc. are guilty of it. Cheers.

I will respect other people but I will give a thumbs down to answers that are intended to degrade the Christian point of view. I'm sure the atheists do the same thing for their way of thinking. You need to worry about whether or not God will give you a thumbs down or thumbs up.

Perhaps the people which you speak of are not Christians only want to be Christians or maybe something else.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1Jo 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Could it be they are of the devil.
I hope there are enough scriptures here to answer your question. By the way thanks for the question.
True Christians are not the people which you described.
You have a great and happy day.

Let me know your views< I will listen and perhaps we can agree to disagree. I am certain that you will disagree with many of my views.

I only give a "thumbs down" when the answerer is disrespectful, abusive, or just plain crazy. I don't think giving a "thumbs down" is a show of disrespect. If it was, we'd be able to leave snippy little comments. But then again, some people believe that's what messaging through Yahoo Answers is for!

We are supposed to be separatists. We are called to be holy, as the Lord is holy - which is defined as set apart from the rest. We are told not to be conformed to this Earth, but to be renewed in mind and spirit, born again, and made as new creatures. That may or may not cause me to rate something as thumbs up or down; I typically keep that to violations of ethics or code of conduct on here, but I just wanted to make sure Christians remember that we ARE supposed to be separate. If there is nothing to make us different, how will the world know us? As such, we are called to be known by our love for each other (but now don't confuse that with love for the world's ways).

I can bear other's opinions, but when they cross the line, saying things like "we must kill the infidels in the name of Allah" and such, it bothers me? Do I not have a right to stand up for myself? You say it would make me a seperatist, but it only makes me a seperatist if i stand idly by and say nothing! As long as they state their belief and drop it, I might even be inclined to reflect and search for a shred of merit, but otherwise don't you EVER single someone out because they choose to fight back!

>>>why do you...?
give thumbs down to everyone with a different opinion?<<<

Are Christians the only people who ever do this? Come on now. Get real.

Besides, if someone expresses an opinion that I don't agree with, I "thumb down" the OPINION, not the person.

This is something that everybody, including Christians, has a right to do.

Just because I disagree with someone's opinion, doesn't mean I'm disrespecting that person.

You seem to think that "respecting people" is synonymous with "agreeing with their opinions."

Likewise, you seem to think that "disrespecting people" is synonymous with "disagreeing with their opinions."

If this is what you think -- and it seems that you do -- then you need to look up a few words in the dictionary and see what they really mean.

This is an open forum, people from all faiths give thumbs down and up. It's just a way of saying "I don't agree with that statement." That's not the same thing as saying "I think this is a terrible person making this statement."

It's okay to respectfully disagree.

Like I said, even all Christian, are different, If God made us all the same it would be boring, and we wouldn't be able to help one another, that's why He made us all different, some with special gifts, we all have something we do better. You should try to have an open mind, I respect other view points as long as they are sincere.

Who said Thumbs down? I always have a respect for others but what I believe is the best and I want others to know that belief.
It's their choice to believe it or not. Jesus loves you!
