You can try by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, and not eating any processed foods. Stick with unprocessed, meats, whole grains and fresh vegtables & fruits. Although in some cases cellulite is herdiatary and no matter what you do you may still have some. You can also try thigh creams to firm the skin and minimize it's appearance but it is usually only good for a few days.

I am so busy with my 5 kids (all under 8 years old!) and I hate exercising and dieting, life's too short! So I thought the only option for getting rid of my ugly cellulite was to book in with a set of weekly medical roller treatments. Job done.
However, they cost me a monstrous $3000 and, you guessed it, did absolutely nothing. I couldn't believe it. It left me thoroughly depressed.
I saw this info on the web and I gave it a go, what did I have to lose now! And, my god this is genius. Quick and easy. I feel so wonderful in my new, smooth, renewed figure! I am a yummy mummy now!

It sounds like your body fat distribution (which is genetic) is higher in the rear and hips than other places (chest, arms, etc.). You cannot "spot reduce"; when you lose weight it comes off proportionally from all your stored fat, so focus on overall weight reduction and fitness. I'd recommend biking over running, since it is low impact and you can do it at a much wider range of intensities. If you are into swimming it will also help to broaden your lats, which will balance better visually with your hips. It also helps to get a scale that does body fat estimation (~$50 at Target). BMI is just height/weight, so muscle weight counts the same as fat...but they sure don't look the same.

Bummer about the cellulite! Bummer about the facts of the answer, too....you can't just "target" that specific area to get rid of it. You're taller than I am, and though I haven't weighed myself for a long time (I don't want any strokes or heart attacks so I avoid it at my age...!!) but I suspect that you may actually weigh less than I and I guess one question that needs to be asked is how long have you been walking your 2 miles daily? As far as I'm concerned, eating healthy doesn't help with cellulite or any specific type of fatty tissue but it does help over all health (damn it!) Perhaps you need to just keep at your exercise routine a bit longer or unfortunately, you also may be pre-disposed to having cellulite. Geez, I hate those situations. I tend to think of myself as 'fat' or at least overweight but considering that I'm 25-twice.....sounds better than 50 don't you think? I actually am very fortunate in a lot of aspects...I don't have cellulite and I also haven't done any regular exercise for too long, I don't have those ugly varicose veins or stretch marks, I DO however have a very rare condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a disease of the soft conective tissue in one's body, and unfortunately I've dislocated my right shoulder over 1,000 times and have had 5 surgeries on it trying to keep it in the socket as well as other problems related to this condition, but again, the only advantage to having this is that I also don't have any wrinkles....so there's a lot of give and take in our lives unless, of course, we're as perfect as too many people in this world believe themselves to be!!! :)

Even thin people have it. I read all the time about solutions, but I think it helps to do leg exercises, riding a bike or the machines at the gym. Don't have too much processed food and drink lots of water and I read that soda and coffee and tea counts toward your total.
Some of the lotions and creams may temporially help, experiment to see which ones work for you. A tan helps hide it.

You can't actually target specific ares to lose fat. What you can do is eat a healthier diet (reduces fat overall), and you can target the muscles underlying the fat. Toning those specific muscles will build a firmer base for the fat and make it less apparent. For the backs of thighs, try any leg exercises - squats, leg lifts, walking, bicycling, and so on.

You could try mesotherapy or lymphatic drainage. This can reduce cellulite, but you need several sessions to see results, which then have to be maintained with further sessions indefinitely. Good luck and take care : )

Unfortunately cellulite is genetic, short of really getting ripped and losing perhaps too much weight, it ijust is. Your body sounds perfect to me, at 5'8" 140 is a dream weight. I truly envy you.
