Mmmm, I LOVE polenta. I make it from scratch and then let it solidify in a bread pan. I then take slices of it and lightly fry it. I'll then add sauteed mushrooms in a red wine reduction (with various herbs, spices, and maybe some heavy cream), top it with some cheese like fontina and broil it until everything is nice and cooked.

premade logs can be good.
I have an Italian friend that makes his own sort of like a porridge with big hunks of mozzarella cheese. Yummy
I have purchased the logs as well and topped with a pasta sauce. you can either bake or heat up on the stove. I also have sliced and brushed with a little olive oil and grilled on the BBQ. All the ways are quite good

Yeah! It's good...kinda tastes like condensed grits.

I had some last weekend at a restaurant with a wild mushroom sauce! It tastes good with chunky homemade sauce of any kind...try throwing some of your favorite things in a pot with some olive oil and pour it on some fried polenta!

Yes, I've tried it. You can grill slices, broil it with cheese on top, serve it soft with sauce on top, all kinds of stuff really.

A lot of chefs on TV are all excited about polenta. I never saw the big deal about what is, really, corn meal mush. Maybe I just haven't tried "really good" polenta/corn meal mush.

I hate polenta! It has no taste, so you have to put some kind of sauce on it. No, it's not good. Try it and see if you have the same opinion!

My mom used to make it from polenta meal in a big casserole dish, covered with tomato sauce. Pretty darn tasty for such a simple dish.

polenta cooked hard in slices is good.... In my country we used polenta uncooked in soups (turkey soup) just a tablespoon per person. Put polenta like a rain when soup is boiling and stir... Let soup two minutes more and serve.....

I just like cutting small wheels of it, pan frying them and either putting sweet or salty sauces on it to give flavor. When I make it home made, I'll put a cream sauce with sauteed mushrooms.

yes... you can slice it into rounds and saute both sides in some butter on a hot pan.... you can add anything over it, perhaps a mushroom cream sauce or tomato sauce with crumbled sausage, or topped with crab salad.... or enjoy as is like a little snack

It's very good. Slice it, heat in the mircrowave and put some pasta sauce on it.
