The 9th Configuration by William Peter Blatty. Yes the guy who wrote the Exorcist. This movie is a weird story about a Psychiatrist who really wants to prove to this patient in this mental institute that God not only exists but that he loves him. Wow, is it strange. Really beautiful in a way but also a creepy suspence.

Some other though are:

Dogma: I really like how the two Angels talk about God and humans.

Bless the Child: Again horror but really accurate about spiritual warfare.

The Rapture: I am not much for the Rapture stuff spiritually and I could do with out all the soft porn and seeing David Dycovney naked but I like the story of the Mimi Rogers conversion and then battle of faith. It is something that seems to come to my mind every now and then.

Excellent question.

The movies that most influenced me are
2001: A Space Odyssey
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Hannah and Her Sisters

One that exemplifies my beliefs well is "Field of Dreams".

A tie between Dogma and Stigmata. The main characters in both did not buy into all the religion crap, just tried to leave good lives and were exemplified by a higher power.

It terms of my view of the afterlife, it's What Dreams May Come. I like the idea of choosing between heaven and reincarnation, and before I saw that movie, I had never thought of combining the two ideas.

I've never been influenced by a movie or TV. I go to movies every once in a while for entertainment, and don't watch TV. It sucks.
