Because you cannot possibly see ALL the people who are pulled over for using a hand held mobile. And even if you do see people who have been pulled over, how would you know why they have been pulled over?
It is now an offence to use a hand held mobile device whilst driving. Get a hands free or bluetooth kit or stop whinging!
Also, I believe it is going to become an endorsable offence later this year - 3 points on your licence and a £60 fine.

Unlucky to get caught - but I'm totally against using a mobile whilst driving. I'd like it if more were stopped for doing such a dangerous thing - especially drivers of huge lorries. If lorry drivers cause an accident whilst on the phone, they have a better chance of surviving than the people in cars/on bikes/pedestrians etc. that they could crash into.
I hope you wont be doing it again.
( I was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt - forgot to buckle up)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess the reason you got caught talking on your phone while driving was because.......you were on your phone talking while you were driving?? Maybe I'm wrong, I guess I wasn't there. I've got an idea though, stop talking on your phone while driving. I know, tough one to grasp. Why are you complaining in the first place if you did something wrong? Admit to the mistake and don't do it anymore. Learn from it, don't waste our time by complaining about a dumb decision YOU made.
Phones have ear pieces now that can be used rather than the phone being put to your ear. If you hold a phone you have one hand on the wheel. If you have one hand on the wheel you have less control of your vehicle. Tell you what, if you crashed into my family and killed them because there was a phone call you believed was more important than my families lives, I would hunt you down.

Are you joking?? The police actually stopped you because you were using your mobile?! You are sooo unlucky, I've seen loads of people (hundreds of drivers at the very least) using their phone whilst on the roads. However that doesn't mean that it is legal and you have been caught breaking the law... just doesn't seem fair though I'm sure.

Whilst I was reading you question, I was amazed how stupid you really are. Can't spell for anything and what's with "whilst"? Three times no less. Spell check next time: OPINION, CAUGHT, WHILE.
Poor baby got caught and the bad policeman didn't yell at the other people, "I'm telling."

Look you nit-wit... rule no.1 ok... always rule no.1 Don't get caught...
I'm always on my phone... I never put it down, I hate headsets... just keep a look out for the police... if you are stupid enough to get the caught... then accept it with a smile, say sorry to the policeman and pay the fine.... then be more careful next time.

It's just bad luck. Since so many people use their mobile phone when driving doesn't that just show how safe it is? These laws are obeyed by idiots, cowering and agreeing with every law passed.

It is against the law - and you did it - and that is why you got caught. Do you ever watch the News? You will hear of lots of people getting away with things - read your local paper - people getting away with handbag snatching and the like. They got away with it but it was still against the law - are you going to try and of that just because they got away with it????
Why you? You were in the wrong!
