NO. And I will tell you why.
My husband and I started going to the gym together, and although he is a great motivator, he expected me to do all the excersises he did. That was a lot of work. I couldn't keep up. His body is different than mine. He can handle it, while I am a smaller frame..it just exhausted me. Women should work out together.

It's usually ok. As long as everyone is appropriately dressed without body parts hanging out, nobody is ogling, touching anyone or making someone feel uncomfortable. It should be about exercise - not a pick-up spot. Also there should be restrictions put on the younger ones from getting into the 21+ age group. They do it at my gym because the younger ones typically are immature and it bothers the older members. But there's also a lot to benefit from same-genders working out together. There's less distraction for a lot of people, women's exercises and body needs can differ from men's, and grunting, swearing, sweating testosterone guys in a stinky room is just no place for women to be. It's almost asking for trouble - depending on the type of gym it is!

Why not? I've always found that co-ed exercise classes were more challenging. Lifting weights isn't a problem, as long as you don't get into a competition with the guys there, you have to remember to lift according to your fitness plan, not what someone else does. My karate classes are always mixed ages and genders. It's never been a problem.

I don't see the harm. Usually men will try harder so it benefits them. I don't know how women exercise in front of men though.

IMO it is not good for a female to exercise with a male because of the tpes of clothing you wear to exercise, the stretching and exposing of your body and simply because this time is to exercise not to flirt or have dirty thoughts

As long as they are mature about it then yes. If a man goes "Oh my god, look at that butt." or something else, he's gonna interupt your workout..FREQUENTLY. So try finding someone who's not gonna flirt or make sexual comments while your exercising.

Why not? Some of the best weight lifting tips I have ever gotten came from a woman.

If a man is really at the gym to workout, then he'll workout. I don't see it as a problem, we interact everywhere else, why should we do it differently at the local gym?
