I don't know if this applies to you after 1.5 years, but every man I or my friends have had experience with like that usually treat their women badly, and they know it...which is why they don't want them out or talking to anyone, especially their friends...afraid someone will give the woman the guts to leave them.

You simply need to ask him...what's your problem???? It is very selfish on his part not to want to share you with your bestfriend of so many years. Have they had some sort of conflict in the past? If not, then it sounds like he wants you all to himself and do not let him get away with it....if you do then you will have no one to blame but you. He needs to get over his jealous and controling behavior, otherwise is he also going to have a problem with a new baby that you are going to be giving all of your attention to. I am very serious, if he cannot control this he really should get into some type of counseling/therapy to change this behavior. If he is resistant to this.....then he is not willing to admit he has a problem and doesn't want anyone telling him he does. Bottom line..........don't allow it, otherwise he will continue because he can.

That is really weird. I'm not suggesting this is your situation, but I had a friend whose husband is the same way and it was because he was having an affair with the friend. He didn't want her to see her best friend because she was scared her best friend would blab.

Your boyfriend sounds very unhealthily jealous. To be completely honest with you, if he is like this is other areas of your life, I would leave him. I understand your pregnant, but you do not want to bring a baby into a home where there is discourse. If he is generally a great guy aside from this, tell him you won't tolerate his behavior.

Good luck, and be careful with him. He sounds like he has a bad temper.

It's a control issue. He may also be attracted to this woman. I had the same problem with an ex of mine. Everytime I would mention this girl he would say "don't talk to her. don't hang around her". I found out later that he was attracted to her and didn't want it to get back to me which it eventually did.

Well, considering the last question you posted (I just found out my bf beat up someone at work) then deleted almost immediately that attracted me to open up your main page and then I felt the urge to read and answer this question, it's because he is controlling and potentially abusive. Be very careful or you may wind up his prisoner.

Maybe it's because he's afraid that when you meet up with your best friend, she'll form opinions about your situation with your boyfriend that he wouldn't like.

But why keep wondering? Why not confront him with this, and offer reasons (obvious or not) why you feel the need to meet up with your bestfriend.

Better yet...you are your own person. Why do you even need his approval for you to meet with your bestfriend?

He's a control freak. You're better off without him, unless he's willing to go to counselling with you and make some serious attitude adjustments. BTDT

Their is nothing wrong with you seeing your friend. Talk with him or leave him. Don't sneak around. Confront it now or it will just get worse .
