I want find somewhere else to live. I called about a place last night and I tell him about it, trying to discuss it with him and he tells me not to worry about him but to find me and my son a place. What do you think he means by this? What would you do?

Why not a place for all three of you?? I take this as a sign that he doesnt want you or your son living with him anymore.... You should ask him if thats what he wants and if he has any doubts about the two of you.... If he shows any hesitation, well actions speak volumes. then you should give him the heave-ho and find somewhere for you and your son and set him out to dry......

He is using your desire to place yourself in new surroundings as an excuse to break off your relationship. Look for cues in his non verbal languages - how does he treat you lately, is he gone a lot? Does your intuition tell you that something is amiss.
Move on darlin' be happy with yourself and your child and what he wants or means or doesn't mean won't be so important.

he may need some space. or he may want you to worry about where you and your son go first and not him because he can find himself a place because he is an adult. he may be tryignt o look after what is best for you and your kid. talk to him about it more.
