I certainly feel horrible if I did. Unfortunately it is much easier to solve an immigration crisis by not letting people stay. It comes down to a money and resource issue. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way that our nation is built on immigrants and thrives on a economy that needs a devoted workforce. But supporting it and doing all the paperwork is tremendous and it is simply easy to ignore such pleas than to solve the problem

The Cuban people are fleeing a tyrranical Communist regime where you could spend life in prison for speaking out against Castro. The Mexican government is a free and open democratic society. Comparing the two is ridiculous.
..... and for 'heraclemaya', the embargo does not imprison people for life sentences, the embargo does not crack down on political dissidents, the embargodoes not summarily execute those who disagree with Castro. What the embargo does is keep Castro from using Cubas money to threeaten regional stability a la Chavez in Venezuela.

OK, I am dumping on illegals.
Our country has an unusually liberal asylum policy with Cuba. One can hardly blame those people for taking advantage of it. Asylum is a very different thing from illegal immigration. For one thing.... it is legal.

They are not fleeing the tyranny.
They are escaping the embargo imposed by the USA.
Cuba would be one of the richest countries of America if it wasn't for the embargo...........
