it's pointless...an ad for yahoo!...c'mon get rid of it.

i have a feeling, though, that before long, there will be advertisements for actual clients and we will wish that little pointless purple box were there instead.

Yes it's rude--and incredibly annoying.

They seem to have a knack for annoying me. I remember back in the day when they added that extra screen in Yahoo! Games that had the ad on it. At first they didn't have a "skip ad" button, but now they do, thankfully.

Yeah we should at least be able to close it. It is bothering me too. Purple no less. It is really distracting and unfriendly. Good question. How about an "x" on it, so we can close it forever? It is assaulting my vision. I only see well out of my left eye and there it goes bothering they eye. You can always stick sticky notes on those things on the screen. It helps sometimes. If it flashes you need several thicknesses, I do that to keep them form giving me a headache. Flashing things can give people susceptible to head aches them and worse yet people with seizures can get seizures can get seizures.

Selling ads is the reason this web site exists. So rude? No. But annoying -- yes.

It's not rude. Advertisers have to pay... That's why Yahoo! is free.

Perhaps you would prefer some other pay service without the ads?

If by rude you mean a mild inconvenience which pays for a place for you to rant like a little creampuff? Then yes Yahoo is rude.

Yahoo is running a business ... a service that is, for the most part, free for us. So why don't you stop complaining. Without those ads, they make no money, and we have no Yahoo fun.

Not unless you want to pay to use this site. No I do not. It is 1000 times better than a pop up ad.

How RUDE! I hate how when you do a search on Yahoo the first choices are always advertisers who paid yahoo to get higher on the Results list.
