A convict broke into my house and was arrested here.
Weeks later, a police man came to my door and summoned me to court with a supena. The paper had a docket #, judge name and the works.
Yesterday I went to the court house to be the witness on stand but they said that there was no such court case ever. The name of the case was not in the system, docket # not in system.
Clerks office workers said the order was never issued by the state and was invalid.
What happened? Do you know what happened?

Quite a few things could have happened. The one I think happened is that the policeman was not real. Many times subpoenas are not served by policemen, rather by couriers.

I would take it to the real police station nearest you and open an investigation. Go to whomever handled the original arrest.

Not to scare you but, if someone is "playing" with you this much you might be in some danger. Go today...ok?

I would say the cop was crooked and made some sort of a deal with the "convict", as that is the only way i can see this sort of thing happening. Either the officer was severely incompetent, or on the hook to this criminal. I believe your hunt will begin and end with that police officer!!!

I think that you should write your city council person. That sounds like there was a real mix up some where. I do not see how you could have that information and they do not have record of it. There is something fishy going on there. What state are you in there may be more than one way to go about it.

Holly Sh*t. I'd be pissed. You go back up there and knock on every body's office door until somebody explains what happened. Did you get the name of the officer that issued the supena...start the hunt there.

why would someone have to know the law to know the answer to this? someone made a mistake, plain and simple, it happens from time to time believe it or not that the law itself even makes these "mistakes" lol anyways I could continue on about the rest of it sarcastically towards the law as I was going to but anyways I hope everything else turns out ok for you

You may want to question why it took (weeks) so long
to issue a subopena !
Ask the officer himself, why this is still going on !
If this doesn't work, you may have to contact a lawyer,
because something smells like anchovies !

Call the district attorney for your county. He might have a better idea what is going on. Or at least send you in the right direction.
