There is software available to get the WGA off your PC, but it doesn't remove the fact that your windows is either counterfit or previously used. You will not receive anymore updates until you purchase a new legal copy of windows or purchase a key from microsoft. TigerDirect.com has a good price on windows XP Pro. If you bought your PC new with windows already installed you should take the matter up with the seller.Good luck.

Hm.... one of the problems with automatic mode. First question..... is it counterfeit? If it is not then you need to go to Windows help and throw the problem back at Microsoft.

This has arisen because Windows now instals an authentication program on your computer. Microsoft bothers me when they do this without, in effect, telling you

It means that either your copy is fake or someone else has registered the product key with the 'genuine windows' system. Only 1 key per PC. You can't use it on any other PCs you own.

If you own a XP cd (OEM/DELL/Gateway/etc.) then you can call MS to fix this problem using your key that is on a sticker (on side of PC if legally built).
