She can be whatever she wants. Ms is usually used if women don't want others to know their marital status.

Years ago before all this divorce became popular -- Miss and Mrs. was all there was but then the title of Ms. came about and it was to fool someone into not exactly knowing what you were. So in this day and age a lady who is divorced would most likely use Ms.

That is optional to the woman. Ms. is never required. Ms. is also used by others as a generic that could cover Miss or Mrs. so Ms. kind of hides the identity.

Miss is for the never married. If she is taking back her maiden name she becomes a Ms.

You can be either, I am a divorced woman and I prefer Ms. When I see Miss I usually associate that with a teenager.

I suggest using Ms. as a Miss is a "maiden" woman. In other words, a virgin.

Generally you would go by MS. MISS is for women who never married - or young girls. I prefer not to put anything out there at all, neither MS or MISS - I just go by my name as it appears on
my license. And no, MS does not stand for MISS, nor does it mean the same thing. MS is the result of the seventies fight for equality & was chosen to represent women who do not wish to be known as MRS or MISS. See MS magazine (if it's still printed) for examples. Great question - thanks!!

Either is fine, though I prefer Ms. After being married for years, Miss just sounds to young to me

I would say Ms. Miss usually refers to a young woman who has never been married.

Ms.
It never goes back to Miss as Miss is for never-married women.
In some families they still practice the rule of keeping the Mrs. until remarriage. Be glad times have changed, but remember, etiquette doesn't change, people do.
