Hi! Here is the official government website for immigration to Canada.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html

There's a TON of information there. It can get confusing to navigate around that site sometimes due to the amount of information there, but you can always request information by letter mail. I wouldn't really recommend calling any of the numbers because, well, it's the government. You'll just go in circles talking to them.

As well, depending on what country you're coming from, you can contact immigration lawyers in Canada who can help you get a visa/green card easier. As well, if you are in an occupation that is short staffed across the country (ie. any medical field), you'll laugh because it'll be a total joke to get here. They'll give you a work visa fairly quickly. Actually right now, if you ask to immigrate to the province of Alberta to work it will be much easier as there are far too many jobs for actual people. Many businesses are hiring people from out of the country. This past summer there were several women from Mexico who worked in the area, and as well as several Sri Lankan men.

If you have any more questions, drop me a line! Good luck!
