well....if u r working then maybe u cud give them a sari ,etc. But my personal opinion is tht if u give them a hand made card, flowers, or maybe a perfume , chocolates and a cake they wud like it even more...
i don't think parents expect very show-sha gifts....
they wud rather go for gifts which r filled with love frm thr kids.
i am sure wht ever u give them they will surely like it.
well a HAPPY WEDDING DAY to ur parents on my behalf.

It depends on how much you earn.
If u can afford to give a lot , you can give your mom a jewellery and a saree and your dad a watch and suit .
other options you can gift them a romantic dinner at some five star hotel or book a holiday resort where they can have a lovely time and enjoy.Tht would really be quite an experience.
Or just give them flowers and card and take them out that day and show them how much you love. You can also organize a party at some location , and take them to that place as suprise and invite all your parents friends and people they would love to meet.
Make it a memorable moment in your own way !

We all wish a newly married couple to have a good, happy, lifelong relationship... and very much so in today's times. So I would recommmend:
The book-'Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman and 'Seven secrets for a happy family' by Paul Meier M.D. Along with these books, i would give accompaniments like a gold/silver engraved ethnic bookmarks with a personal message for them..i.e. if you want to really spend, otherwise a nice embossed leather one would also do... maybe you could even add a leather personalised cover for the books with names of your parents inscribed on it..... and perhaps even a beautiful bookreader lamp, y' know the one that can be attached to the book while reading..its a small one shaped like a book mark with a hook.....

Do you mean your parents are renewing their vows, or you are getting married and want to give them a gift? A professionally taken family picture, framed and matted would be a nice gift. If you have time, you could take out video footage and pictures along with their favourite songs and make them a dvd.
