I have a MAC powerbook Pro. I bought Windows XP for my MAC and don't know how to install it. When I insert the disc and click on it I see a # of icons that say autorun, DOCS, DOTNETFX, 1386, Readme, setup, valuadd. Autorun however seems to be a word document and doesn't run the install setup. If anyone has AIM and could help me out leave sn please

You must install Boot Camp from
http://apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/
Then read the setup guide! It's pretty easy, I've done it recently. I suggest you use at lease 10gb for windows when it asks for partition size.

First, make sure you have a Macbook pro, as in the ones on this web page --> http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

Then either install Bootcamp as others have mentioned, or get Parallels, which let's you run two operating systems at the same time.

Running the two OS's simultanesously requires a minimum of 1GB of RAM, but get 1.5GB or 2GB, and a $79 software package called Parallels.

You will also need a copy of windows, which it seems that you have.

If you want to run Windows on your Mac instead of the Mac OS (wiping out the Mac OS), then boot your computer from the CD that you have. If the CD you have doesn't let you boot from it, then it is either defective or you need to change your mac startup options to bood from a CD.

If it's an Intel-based Mac: Download Apple Bootcamp from http://www.apple.com/bootcamp , install it, follow the instructions.

If it's an older PowerPC-based Mac: Purchase Microsoft VirtualPC and install Windows within it.
