I think it is safe to say that some American guys would.
If I were single and I met an African woman who I found attractive, I would certainly ask her out.
Does this question have anything to do with race? You haven't indicated what race the student is.
I am a white guy and I would have no problem with having a relationship with woman of a different race (were I single, of course).
I don't know about any other American guy, but that is how I personally feel about it.
