Today I got my bottom braces on and my teeth really hurt! I got spacers in a few days earlier so my teeth were sore then, too. I'm already tired of pudding and mashed potatoes. I don't like applesauce. What are some soft foods that I don't have to chew?

Smoothies (fruit, yogurt, ice)
Cream Soups (or any canned soup, really, is soft enough to eat w/o chewing)
yogurt
popsicles and ice cream and frozen yogurt
soft, ripe melons like cantaloup and watermelon (can sorta be mushed w/ tongue against the roof of your mouth)
Those roasted chickesn from the deli

And try takign some Motrin or Tylenol about30 minutes before meal time.

Blended fruit smooths are filling and you can use any fruit you want. Rice, bannas, peaches things that dont require alot chewing. You should attempt to chew foods that arent to hard to get used to cheewing with the braces and it will help the paine in the long run.

Soup's a really good one (just don't get it with a bunch of harder foods in it), rice is probably okay if you eat it with small bites (then it'll be able to just go down your throat).
